Finally, I have time to blog about Thurday’s Pet Bev lecture!
Sorry it took a while, we had to complete our brochure assignment. Mine is really pretty! Viggy & I liked it so much!
Just one thing that pissed me off a little, someone was being RUDE again and snatched our envelope to peer inside. Hello, common courtesy like please?
Other than that, the brochure assignment is pretty fun, I kinda enjoyed staying up will 2-3AM almost every night working on it and played around with MS Publisher (because unlike the rest, I have no idea on how to operate Photoshop).
We went to print at this shop opposite Sunway’s side gate after wading through ‘Smoke Blobs’. The lady who did our printing was the sweetest and cutest. I could just pinch her!
:)
Anyway, it’s 218AM and I’ve not even packed for my trip to PD with the familia later! It’s all because of you, NABS. But I don’t mind because we had a ‘thrilling’ night HAHAHAHAHAHA.
Shh.

Back to the point, on Thursday, Dr Saga brought us a whole lot of stuffs again! And they’re all really interesting and cool. The first picture is of a species from the cat family but I’m not sure what it is. It’s really small, like the normal household cat’s head.
He got it by accident, the trap that he set for an animal he wanted to capture (was it a crab again?) shut when the cat tried to eat the animal and it beheaded the cat. Yes it is gory but Dr Saga took the head and preserved it to show us the teeth structure.
It’s all about the teeth baby!
Believe me, that head was extremely well preserved. It was really hard, dry and odourless. The eyes are marbles.
During the break, we got to see the other animals he brought and ‘play’ with them.
Gecko!
It was really really pretty. And cold as ice! As you can see from the picture, it’s moulting – right side, below arm.
I feel like having one.
Hee. So cute :)
That is a cat’s fetus. It was taken out during a surgery. Together with the amniotic sack – am I right? Around a few weeks old.
Heartworm and tapeworm.
Tapeworm.
Heartworm. There are three inside – 2 females, 1 male. The male is more spirally than the females.
I named it Rocky. Bee Trice had 2 before, and we named one of it Rufus Lumiere Timothy – died like few weeks (days?) later.
It was the calmest guinea pig I’ve ever seen! Stayed perfectly still in our palms, crept slowly and those whiskers! Ah!
Next, tarantulas!
3 different tarantulas! But I don’t know which is which. Just that the second one is a tree tarantula (something like that) that just sticks to the glass and remains still but can move fast – that’s why it wasn’t taken out and that the 3rd one is usually used in movies because it is tame.
Dr Saga took it out and it was simply beautiful. It crawled slowly along his palm with hairy legs. Perfection. I love tarantulas.
This one below is belonged to the first container. It’s the aggressive one.
Sorry it’s blur.
Thanks to Kar Yee’s amazing camera. :)
Dr Saga showed us how do spiders react when they are threatened by doing a demonstration on this tarantula. So. Cool.
After his lecture, he showed us picture slides of his animal autopsies – monkey, crocodile & tiger – and the process of preserving it. The pictures were gory but it was kinda cool. I enjoyed it.

To end this post, I shall present you with an animal of my own.
My cat.
Tell me, don’t you just feel like rubbing your feet all over that furry belly like a carpet?
I do.

Port Dickson, here I come!
SPSS (glad to have you back), here I come!
Pokemon Platinum (from David – awesome version), here I come!
Doing assignments on a holiday, me like.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Updated with pictures from MikiMouse :) Thank you so much!
Just a quick one!
Yesterday, during Pet Behavioural lecture, we had a guest lecturer – Dr Saga who is a biologist (if I’m not mistaken) and he takes care of the animal room at the Psychology department and he is a crab expert. The topic was Pet Perception.
I really really enjoyed the lecture. It was SO interesting and I paid full attention despite that I had to scribble down all the notes on the slides and the stupid bench in Audi 2 is driving me to the brink of insanity.
My friend said that he talked too much during the lecture but he was so funny! I love animals and I really like meeting people who have so much passion in their job! It was one of the best days ever!
The highlight for the day was definitely the animals he brought in for the lecture.
Meet Harry the hermit crab.
ChiRa : Ohh Far, we should name him! Like.. Like.. Harry the hermit crab!
Frrh : Why Harry?
ChiRa : Uhm.
Anyway, the hermit crab was so cute and heavy. Dr Saga brought 2 but the other one refused to come out. Harry came out instantly and was passed around the class by walking on all our palms, except Viggy, so I had to scream at Nigel to take it before it falls off. Or hangs on to my skin.
Ooo-kay.
Next, we had :
T the tortoise and …
Worms.
T was crawling ever so slowly towards the worm and whenever T tried to bite it, the worm would just wiggle and escaped. But it got eaten in the end. I hate worms. HATE.
T eating leaves. So sorry it’s blur!
T looks quite old.
Nom nom nom nom.
Then we had a ’How does a frog eat’ demonstration and I got a little bored as everyone was crowding around its tiny aquarium and blocked the view – so inconsiderate, hello, you are not invisible.
Anyway, Dr Saga showed us how it swallows its food whole by giving it live fishes.
Say Hi to Froggy.
Did you guys know that frogs will use their eyeballs to push their food down into their stomachs? That is so freakishly cool!
Heh.
~
Okay, that’s it for now. I’m in the midst of completing my brochure assignment with Viggy and emailing her stuffs and waiting for my dad to come home to see what food he got me.
I hope it is sushi.
I WANT A HERMIT CRAB.

Here’s the lyrics to Glee’s Don’t Stop Believin’ and I really have to post this up to get that song out of my head or I will continue to have the urge of reaching out to my Nano and start plugging my ears with it.
Love this song :)
~
Don’t Stop Believin’ by The Cast of Glee
Just a small town girl
Livin’ in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin’ anywhere
Just a city boy, born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train goin’ anywhere
A singer in a smoky room
The smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on
Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the nights
Streetlights, people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the nights
Working hard to get my fill,
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin’ anything to roll the dice
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some are born to sing the blues
And now the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on
Don’t stop believin
Hold on to that feelin’
Streetlight, people
(repeat)
Don’t stop!

And here’s a picture of Cooqee last Sunday when I did my observation on her :
You can see a little of her piercing blue eyes :)

Comment for one of IP’s essay assignment. Normally I get good remarks about my citation but I was in such a hurry that I left a few out and I was too horrified at reading back my essay because I felt that it was full of nonsense.
77/124.
Oooooh, it made my day :)

That’s it about my random-blogging-moment.
Till next time, ciao bellas!

Hello people! I’m back blogging for this week. It has been a little hectic and tiring but it was extremely interesting and things like these are what make me wake up on time and bust my bum out of bed to attend lectures on time, tired or not. I think it will be a little more taxing because Viggy & I joined Peer Counselling Volunteers Team this year. Fingers crossed that we’ll be PCVs throughout!
I finally succeeded collecting a substantial amount of daily snippets to be put up in my blog! I hope you guys enjoy them because I pay a whole lot of attention in all my classes to listen to my lecturers everyday okay! And that’s not just because I sit in the second or third row everyday.
Hahahahaha.
By the way, have you guys watched Glee last Wednesday for the first time on Star World? I did! It was not that awesome but I kinda liked it. The music still rocks, I still have them on repeat when I do my work. Talk about obsession.

*Not in any specific order*
During lecture about “Input – Salty water, Output – Drink Water” :
The Lecturer : What if there is no water available?
Someone : Then we drink… Milo.
~
Fred : (Yawns)
TL : Thank you for your motivating support.
Fred : It’s a lack of Oxygen!
~
During lecture about “Recipient’s perceived value of reinforcement” :
TL : I’ve met some children who are not lacking anything like money, who have parents who are busy doing business – flying here and there – like Superman. Or Superwoman.
TL : For example, a lecturer puts a good job at the end of your essay. You then go to the lecturer and say “Good job? Which part did I do a good job? You didn’t say.” Underlying message – you’re trying to say “Praise me more! Praise me more!”
~
The lecturer was giving an example :
TL : Levid, good job. Rabbit? Oh sorry, David. David, good job.
A few days after incident, during tutorial (because TL kept calling him Levid/Rabbit) :
David : (must have said something about his name being David)
TL : But Rabbit is so much easier to pronounce.
~
During a lecture about Intrinsic/Extrinsic Motivation :
TL : Some people may play the piano beyond Grade 8, until the strings start smokin’. That’s personal enjoyment.
TL : Some come to class because they want to see someone. Then that someone doesn’t come to class for a few months. Then you say “Oh, I cannot see my Robert Pattinson in class today!”.
~
During Pet Behavioural lecture, the lecturer was telling us about her ferrets :
TL : I went back to the pet shop and told the lady* her ferret is doing very well. It’s the least I could do. I can’t just give it back to her, right?
*The sales lady was very attached to the pet shop ferret but sold it to TL
TL : Give them food! Don’t just put your finger there.. Wiggle wiggle!
Telling a story about monkeys back in her uni days :
TL : They will sit on the latch (something like a balcony), observe you and then..
Ian : They go home and report.
Discussing about the behaviour of cats :
Someone : So what if my cat keeps on licking* me?
TL : OH (excited) then that means that it has accepted you as one of it’s family members.. and it thinks that you’re dirty.
*Cooqee does that to us all the time. And to Bee Trice.
~
During a lecture and the lecturer told us this random story :
TL : I was driving at Bukit Jalil. There was this man and woman. Then the girl suddenly ‘thrusted’ towards my car. My NEW CAR. Luckily, my husband was fast enough to manoeuvre the car and avoid her. If not, she will stain my car! But of course I didn’t say that.
~
That’s about it for now. I know it’s so few and it has been two weeks. Five more weeks to finals!
OMG I HAVE GOT TO START STUDYING and not listen to Glee 24/7.
Anyway, I need to start keying in some data entry for my research project. We (Viggy, Micheal, Ian Ooi & I) are doing something about how self-efficacy and goal orientation affect academic attainment.
Interesting, right?

When I got home today, I received a card from Sarawak.

I know I was suppose to blog yesterday but I totally forgotten about it and I didn’t even come online to hunt for journals. At least I managed to clear my room and typed out the questionnaires and whatnots for my research project.
I thought that this afternoon I can start on my animal observation report but then my cat decided to play hide-and-seek with me, so it was an obvious epic fail. Argh. Maybe I’ll do it tonight or tomorrow but I must finish it ASAP!
I took Cooqee to the vet for her annual checkup last Thursday after class ended. Bee Trice who is training there for the holidays was in! And she looked exactly like this :
With the maroon outfit and all. She looked at ease there, handling the animals, well, we’re both animal lovers and I’m really proud of her.
When I came in, Dr Hasnul said “Today Bee is going to be the vet, I am going to be the nurse only” before disappearing upstairs which left an amused looking Bee and me – all exasperated and bewildered, screaming “NO I don’t trust her yet! No pleaseeeeee no!”
Anyway, she weighed and took Cooqee’s temperature and we waited for Dr Hasnul to give Cooqee her booster jabs and de-worming pill. Cooqee has tiny spots of matted hair behind her ears and I was suppose to comb that out but I forgotten again >.<
Her overall health is good because I am an awesome owner hahahahahaha. Okay, resolution of stopping self-praising is out the window. Her coat is nice and thick (very glossy too) with minimal lice – ah sorry about that, I am not that free to give her a shower every week, it’s not that I’m lazy, it’s really time-consuming and her fur is extremely thick so the drying process is difficult, other than that, she’s pretty easy to douse water on and scrub-a-dub-dub. Her teeth is okay, he broke some tartar off of them and they look clean now. Ears are always perfect, eyes clear :)
Waiting outside my door, then running away when I open to let her in.
~
I’ve been feeling so drained these few days especially the day I went to the dentist. Oh and by the way, my gum is completely healed so I can resume eating normally and not try mashing food with my tongue or swallowing it whole.
Meh I am a freak.
The day I went to the dentist, it was raining so heavily and I was half-dead on my bed when my mum whom I thought called to tell me that it was cancelled, told me to get ready. Anyway, the dentist said that I have a nice set of teeth wheeeeee I hope that I’ll keep maintaining it the way it is :)
~
Actually I ran out of things I want to blog about, nothing about my schooling days yet because nothing really interesting has happened so far but I’m enjoying all my classes although the bench in Audi 2 is hurting my bum :P
New classmates are not as warm as expected but it has only been a week, so you can’t expect everybody to be chums although I wish it was. Oh well, everything needs some time. Stay optimistic people.
~
I’ve been incredibly sidetracked by :
Normally I don’t spend much time following series like Gossip Girl or Heroes, in fact, I don’t watch them at all! If watching 90210 once in a while when it’s on air and I’ve nothing elso to watch counts, then, that’s probably the only series that I actually ‘follow’.
Glee is interesting and the trailers are hilariously creative. The songs are superb and enjoyable!
~
Okay, I have to go and continue scavenging for journals before I am murdered by my group members or Viggy for slacking while everyone is working their tushies off (I hope). At least I’ve updated my blog with a uhm decent post.
Shizzle this is embarrassing. I am the lousiest blogger on Earth.

Currently listening to :
Seriously you guys, give it a try.
